Perfection.

Isn’t that what everyone is striving so hard to become; perfect? We attempt to creep closer to perfection but we always fall short!  Christianity plays a huge role in this epidemic. When we were younger, we were taught that only jesus was perfect and he was the epitome of all things good. In the same breath, we were taught to hate the devil because he was the complete opposite. We were also taught that we were born with original sin so we should repent and work hard to be close to perfect, but there’s a huge flaw in that theory. Of course, other than the obvious.

Perfect is not just synonymous with good, perfection symbolizes balance.

In a way, we are taught to fear ourselves because of what comes natural. How will we ever know what’s good if the not-good was nonexistent? And vice versa. The issue is the separation. We learned to separate everything. Jesus and the devil, up from down, left from right, and in from out even-though it is all connected. This separation puts us at an imbalance, because we must acknowledge it all as one.

In movies and such, when making a decision, people are often depicted as having an angel upon one shoulder and a demon upon the other. Both look just like you, and both exist within you because both ARE indeed YOU. You cannot accomplish anything without acknowledging both. You are the balance between the two, and that is not to be feared. You are the good and the not-good and that’s truly what raw perfection is.

Opposite or contrary forces are always complementary and they give rise to each other. Do not be afraid of the dark, for how will you notice the light without it?

Duality is the key to oneness, so just BE and become your version of perfection.
